ADP RISING / FALLING
RISING
Baker Mayfield – CLE – QB
ADP – (QB) – 21 (OVERALL) – 192
Preseason Stats: 18-33 (54.5%) 287 YDS, 1 TD / 1 INT
If Mayfield can continue to impress he might take over for Taylor sooner than expected and have immediate value in an offense loaded with talent and upside. He also showed a strong connection with Antonio Calloway, who could emerge as a late round value. Similar to the connection Cooper Kupp showed with Jared Goff last pre season.
Sam Darnold – NYJ – QB
ADP – (QB) – 32 (OVERALL) – 249
Preseason Stats: 21-29 (72.4%) 158 YDS, 1 TD / 1 INT
The Jets are not completely devoid of talent on offense with WRs Robbie Anderson and Quincy Enunwa. Josh McCown will start the season as the starter but Darnold should see the field at some point and could be worth streaming in certain match ups.
Josh Allen – BUF – QB
ADP – (QB) – 33 (OVERALL) – 245
Preseason Stats: 18-32 (56.3%) 176 YDS, 2 TD / 0 INT
AJ McCarron suffered a collarbone injury the game and will possibly miss the rest of the preseason. Allen should now see first teams reps the rest of the preseason benefiting his development and rest of season outlook.
Josh Rosen – ARI – QB
ADP – (QB) – 34 (OVERALL) – 240
Preseason Stats: 16-29 (55.2%) 148 YDS, 1 TD / 0 INT
Sam Bradford is very injury prone and there is a good chance Rosen sees the field this season. The Cardinals have talent on offense in WRs Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, TE Ricky Seals-Jones and David Johnson is one of the best pass catching backs in football.
Michael Gallup – DAL – WR
ADP – (WR) – 55 (OVERALL) – 142
Preseason Stats: 3 REC, 46 YDS (15.3 AVG) 1 TD
Gallup presents a much better value than Allen Hurns who is going 4 rounds earlier in the 10th. Both have opportunities for targets with the departure of Dez Bryant and Jason Witten.
Christian Kirk – ARI – WR
ADP – (WR) – 72 (OVERALL) – 187
Preseason Stats: 6 REC, 58 YDS (9.7 AVG) 1 TD
Kirk is building a strong repor with fellow rookie QB Josh Rosen and has scored a touchdown in each preseason game. Kirk could have WR3/ FLEX value if he can supplant the numerous options ahead of him on the depth chart.
James Washington – PIT – WR
ADP – (WR) – 78 (OVERALL) – 219
Preseason Stats: 7 REC, 158 YDS (22.6) 2 TD
Washington is a name to monitor with potential if he could carve out a role. It might take an injury to open up enough touches for value but Washington has FLEX/ WR3 upside.
Antonio Callaway – CLE – WR
ADP – (WR) – 90 (OVERALL) – 218
Preseason Stats: 3 REC, 87 YDS (29.0 AVG) 1 TD
Callaway has elite speed and a growing repor with Mayfield, but Dez Bryant is rumored to sign with Cleveland hindering any possible value. With the recent trade of Corey Coleman to Buffalo, Callaway has a chance to carve out a role and be a FLEX / WR3.
Dante Pettis – SF – WR
ADP – (WR) – 96 (OVERALL) – 267
Preseason Stats: 3 REC, 85 YDS (28.3) 0 TD
Pettis has been having a strong offseason and has a chance to carve a larger role in the offense. However Pettis is at best the 4th option behind Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin and George Kittle. Targets will be an issue making Pettis more of an name to monitor if injuries open up more targets.
Royce Freeman – DEN – RB
ADP – (RB) – 25 (OVERALL) – 51
Preseason Stats: 10 ATT, 58 YDS (5.8 AVG), 1 REC, 6 YDS, 2 TD
Freeman continues to outperform perceived starter Devontae Booker and should see more reps with the first unit. Booker has unimpressed so far in his career and Freeman looks like a potential breakout RB2 candidate.
Kerryon Johnson – DET – RB
ADP – (RB) – 30 (OVERALL) – 70
Preseason Stats: 11 ATT, 43 YDS (3.9 AVG), 5 REC, 43 YDS, 0 TD
Johnson looked explosive and performances like should lead to an increased role. That role however might be a limited one with Legarrette Blount vulturing RZ touches while Theo Riddick functions as the 3rd down back receiving back. Regardless Johnson is the most talented player in this committee and possesses the most upside.
Chris Carson – SEA – RB
ADP – (RB) – 42 (OVERALL) – 113
Preseason Stats: 3 ATT, 60 YDS (4.6 AVG), 1 REC, 6 YDS, 0 TD
Carson was already being talked up by HC Pete Carroll as the lead back but with the Rashaad Penny injury, Carson should be firmly entrenched as the starter.
Latavius Murray – MIN – RB
ADP – (RB) – 46 (OVERALL) – 124
Preseason Stats: 10 ATT, 55 YDS (5.5 AVG) 0 TD
Murray had 4 carries for 43 yards in Saturday’s preseason game versus the Broncos.
(Murray remains one of the strongest handcuffs to own in fantasy behind second year starter Dalvin Cook. Cook is coming off of ACL surgery and Murray should maintain a significant role in the offense. With 26 TDs over the past three seasons (8.6 per season) Murray could also be the preferred option at the goal line).
Peyton Barber – TB – RB
ADP – (RB) – 49 (OVERALL) – 134
Preseason Stats: 10 ATT, 53 YDS (5.3 AVG), 3 REC, 2 YDS, 1 TD
Barber has been talked up by the coaching staff as the lead back and Ronald Jones continues to struggle. Jones might be the more talented option with long term upside but much like Chris Carson in Seattle Barber will be given the first chance as the lead back.
James White – NE – RB
ADP – (RB) – 53 (OVERALL) – 149
Preseason Stats: 4 ATT, 31 YDS (7.8 AVG), 6 REC, 61 YDS, 1 TD
White looked explosive with multiple plays for over 20 yards and finding the endzone. Sonny Michel (knee) is questionable for week 1 and Rex Burkhead is dealing with a small tear in his knee after missing 6 games last season with knee issues. White could see a large workload early in the season and if produces earn a larger role.
Jeremy Hill – NE – RB
ADP – (RB) – 59 (OVERALL) – 173
Preseason Stats: 17 ATT, 82 YDS (4.8 AVG), 2 REC, 14 YDS, 1 TD
Hill is still only 25 and had a strong start to his career with the Bengals in his first three seasons averaging 919 YDS and 9.6 TD. With Michel and Burkhead dealing with injuries Hill has an opportunity to earn a larger role. The goal line RB for the Patriots is productive role with LeGarrette Blount scoring 18 TDs in 2016 and Mike Gillislee scoring 5 in only 9 games last season.
David Njoku – CLE – TE
ADP – (TE) – 11 (OVERALL) – 117
Preseason Stats: 2 REC, 46 YDS (23.0 AVG) 2 TD
Njoku was a strong late round upside pick but this performance will surely force his ADP to skyrocket. Also the possible addition of Dez Bryant will limit Njoku’s targets and value.
Austin Hooper – ATL – TE
ADP – (TE) – 27 (OVERALL) – 207
Preseason Stats: 3 REC, 38 YDS (12.7 AVG) 1 TD
Hooper has decent receiving skills and upside in a strong offensive system. He is a name to monitor incase injuries can open up more targets in a crowded offense.
Dallas Goedert – PHI – TE
ADP – (TE) – 33 (OVERALL) – 252
Preseason Stats: 7 REC, 123 YDS (17.6 AVG) 1 TD
Goedert is worth monitoring in the event of an injury to Zach Ertz or an Eagles wideout. Trey Burton was very productive in limited action when Ertz missed time last season.
Rico Gathers – DAL – TE
ADP – (TE) – 41 (OVERALL) – 287
Preseason Stats: 3 REC, 41 YDS (13.7 AVG) 0 TD
Gathers caught 2 passes for 32 yards (16.0 AVG) in Saturday’s preseason game versus the Bengals.
(With Dez Bryant and Jason Witten gone there are opportunities for targets in Dallas. Blake Jarwin and Geoff Swaim are also competing for the starting TE role in Dallas and this continues to be a position battle to monitor).
Blake Jarwin – DAL – TE
ADP – (TE) – 32 (OVERALL) – 246
Geoff Swaim – DAL – TE
ADP – (TE) – 49 (OVERALL) – 335
FALLING
Rashaad Penny – SEA – RB
ADP – (RB) – 23 (OVERALL) – 50
Preseason Stats: 8 ATT, 16 YDS (2.0 AVG) 2 REC, 7 YDS, 0 TD
Penny struggled before suffering a thumb injury and it is now Chris Carson’s job to lose. Penny still has more talent and upside than Carson but right now he is the back up.
Ronald Jones – TB – RB
ADP – (RB) – 27 (OVERALL) – 59
Preseason Stats: 12 ATT, 11 YDS (0.9 AVG)
8 for 9 with a TD
Ronald Jones has struggled for most of the offseason and Peyton Barber is likely to start the season as the Buccaneers starting RB. Jones is still the more talented back and should claim the job into the season with RB2 upside.
Rex Burkhead – NE – RB
ADP – (RB) – 32 (OVERALL) – 78
Preseason Stats: Has missed both preseason games due to a knee injury.
The Patriots recently announced Burkhead as a small tear in his knee which is a significant injury because of his history of knee issues. Last season Burkhead also dealt with knee injuries missing 6 games and this could a long term issue. While New England has downplayed the injury, owners should be concerned and cautious about rostering Burkhead.
Jamaal Williams – GB – RB
ADP – (RB) – 37 (OVERALL) – 85
Preseason Stats: 7 ATT, 18 YDS (2.6 AVG) 2 REC, 14 YDS, 1 TD
Williams has avoided a high ankle sprain and is considered day to day. If the injury proves to be serious Ty Montgomery should see a large workload until Aaron Jones returns from suspension.
Devontae Booker – DEN – RB
ADP – (RB) – 48 (OVERALL) – 127
Preseason Stats: 6 ATT, 24 YDS (4.0 AVG) 1 REC, 10 YDS, 0 TD
Booker has been underwhelming so far in his career and given Royce Freeman’s impressive performance he should start to earn a larger role. Booker a solid value at his current ADP if he can secure the lead back role but it is looking unlikely that happens.
Samaje Perine – WAS – RB
ADP – (RB) – 61 (OVERALL) – 179
Preseason Stats: 8 ATT, 61 YDS (7.6 AVG)
Perine is considered day to day and he will continue to fight for early down work with Robert Kelley while Chris Thompson functions as the pass down back.
Robert Kelley ADP – (RB) – 87 (OVERALL) – 314
Jonathan Stewart – NYG – RB
ADP – (RB) – 74 (OVERALL) – 272
Preseason Stats: 7 ATT, 22 YDS (0.3 AVG) 1 REC, 8 YDS, 0 TD
3 for 3 yds 1 catch 8 yds
Stewart was already receiving negative reports out of camp and looks sluggish. Wayne Gallman had 5 carries for 26 yards adding 2 catches for 9 yards and a TD. Gallman could eventually eat enough into Stewarts touches and become the handcuff to own behind Barkley.
Wayne Gallman – NYG – RB
ADP – (RB) – 81 (OVERALL) – 294
