Drastically over the course of a week, the fantasy landscape can change. Especially with any league ( like deeper ones), it can be difficult to keep track of every performance worth noting. We’ve done that work for you!
Whether it’s hot bats to pick up or measuring the rising stock of players already owned, this is the rundown. Here’s a look at standouts over the past week by relief pitchers…
1. Edwin Diaz – SEA – RHP (98%)
0 W, 3 SV, 0.00 ERA, 0.00 WHIP, 7 K / 3 IP
Season Stats: (47 G) 0 W, 35 SV, 2.30 ERA, 0.81 WHIP with 78 K / 13 BB in 47 IP
Single season save record is 62…just saying….
2. Corey Knebel – MIL- RHP (92%)
1 W, 3 SV, 2.25 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, 6 K / 4 IP
Season Stats: (24 G) 2 W, 11 SV, 3.18 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 35 K / 9 BB in 22.2 IP
Knebel has picked up where he left off after his injury and despite a little bad luck still has fantastic K rates and solid ratios. A lot more saves are to come.
3. Drew Rucinski – MIA- RHP (0%)
2 W, 0 SV, 0.00 ERA, 0.27 WHIP, 2 K / 3.2 IP
Season Stats: (13 G) 4 W, 0 SV, 3.12 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, 14 K / 3 BB in 17.1 IP
4. Blake Treinen – OAK – RHP (88%)
1 W, 1 SV, 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, 5 K / 4 IP
Season Stats: (36 G) 5 W, 22 SV, 0.81 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 54 K / 12 BB in 44.2 IP
Treinen continues to increase his trade value if the A’s are willing to take advantage of the haul they could get for an elite relief arm.
5. Dan Jennings – MIL – LHP (0%)
0 W, 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP, 7 K / 6 IP
Season Stats: (42 G) 3 W,1 SV, 3.22 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 36 K / 15 BB in 44.2 IP
6. Brad Hand – SD – LHP (96%)
1 W, 1 SV, 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 6 K / 3 IP
Season Stats: (40 G) 2 W, 24 SV, 2.91 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 64 K / 15 BB in 43.1 IP
Hand continues to raise his trade value with dominant K rates as the deadline approaches.
7. Craig Kimbrel – BOS – RHP (99%)
0 W, 3 SV, 0.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 5 K / 3 IP
Season Stats: (37 G) 1 W, 27 SV, 1.98 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 54 K / 14 BB in 36.1 IP
8. Shawn Kelley – WAS – RHP (0%)
1 W, 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP, 4 K / 5 IP
Season Stats: (28 G) 1 W, 0 SV, 2.84 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, 26 K / 5 BB in 25.1 IP
9. Bud Norris – STL – LHP (78%)
0 W, 2 SV, 0.00 ERA, 0.33 WHIP, 4 K / 3 IP
Season Stats: (38 G) 3 W, 17 SV, 2.87 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 49 K / 6 BB in 37.2 IP
While his old-school mentality has been called into question, his numbers show he is getting the job done, like the approach or not. Hicks is still knocking on the door if he falters, so he has to keep it up to solidify his position.
10. Victor Arano – PHI – RHP (13%)
0 W, 2 SV, 0.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, 5 K / 3 IP
Season Stats: (29 G) 1 W, 2 SV, 2.25 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 35 K / 9 BB in 32 IP
Arano has been picking up saves in the Phillies bullpen and has good numbers but it still looks like Seranthony is the go-to guy in the 9th inning. Doesn’t mean Kapler will not use some form of a committee at times.
